02 Oct Lawrence Young Joins 720 Strategies
720 Strategies announced today that Lawrence Young joined the firm to help lead its growing portfolio of Fortune 500 and trade association PAC accounts. Young brings to the team a wealth of political fundraising experience, having spent more than a decade helping PACs, trade associations, political candidates and nonprofits.
Young will join the team as Vice President of PAC Programs, working with corporate and trade association clients to strategize, design and implement all elements of their PAC programs. In his previous roles, he consulted for more than 25 members of Congress and raised millions of dollars for PACs and congressional campaigns.
“We are thrilled to have Lawrence join the team,” 720 President Pam Fielding said. “He brings significant experience, strategic insight and deep relationships on and off Capitol Hill to support our client work.”
“720 has an outstanding track record of helping corporate and trade association PACs meet their fundraising and advocacy goals, and I look forward to expanding their outstanding practice,” Young said.
Prior to joining 720, Young worked as a consultant and Senior Vice President of Political Development Group, beginning in 2005, fundraising for congressional candidates across the country. Young consulted more than 20 congressional campaigns, lobbying firms and trade associations. As Senior Vice President, Young oversaw the merger of PDG and Angerholzer Team in 2013, creating Washington’s largest Democratic fundraising firm.
Young began his consulting career in Baltimore, Md., where he worked with Martin-Lauren Associations beginning in 2001. There, he supervised more than 30 political campaigns, ranging in scope from city council to the U.S. Senate. He also worked on the inaugural fundraiser for the Baltimore City Fire Foundation to assist in purchasing additional equipment and helping the families of firefighters.
Young sits on the Board of Directors for the Shade Foundation, a national children’s organization devoted to skin cancer education and prevention. Originally from Massachusetts, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.
