Tom has ten years of experience in web application development and content management systems, having developed software for the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Education, and the Department of Health and Human Services while working at American Management Systems, Inc (now part of CGI Group). His work as a contract software engineer for the Department of Agriculture resulted in one United States patent for a content management system (patent number 6,356,903), and an additional pending patent application for an online feedback management system. Additionally, Tom was on the team that architected the largest distributed geographic information systems (GIS) database ever deployed for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Additionally, Tom has extensive experience in the online political campaign and legislative arenas from his time as senior software engineer at Blue State Digital. He developed software for several US Senate campaigns, PACs, non-profits, and congressional campaigns through the 2004 and 2006 campaign cycles and was instrumental in pioneering numerous leading edge technologies.
Tom has worked on entrepreneurial Internet projects developing custom CRM software for the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce and public service projects like CrimeinDC.org to help promote public safetey and crime awareness in Washington, DC.
Tom has a degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University.
