Adam Wagner brings nearly a decade of experience in grassroots advocacy, public affairs and public relations to his role as Director of Communications for SevenTwenty Strategies. An editor and award-winning writer, Wagner specializes in developing marketing strategies for proposals and RFP responses, as well as content for grassroots communications materials ranging from direct mail to telephone and web outreach, and from grassroots training and marketing materials to opinion editorials and letters to the editor, which have appeared in hundreds of periodicals across the country.

Prior to joining SevenTwenty Strategies, Wagner served as Senior Writer for Direct Impact, the grassroots arm of the global public relations firm Burson-Marsteller, where he spent more than eight years crafting community-based advocacy communications and marketing strategies for a diverse group of Fortune 100 companies, trade associations and coalitions.

A former English instructor at Northern Arizona University, Wagner served as editor-in-chief of Thin Air Literary Journal, a non-profit, national publication, where he was responsible for all grant writing and fundraising and for the overall integrity of the magazine.

He has freelanced for website development, marketing and retail organizations, been a featured writer for online media outlets following independent music and the D.C. arts scene, and is a noted contributing writer to MMAmania.com, a leading SB Nation-partner blog following the sport of mixed martial arts.

Wagner received his B.A. in English literature and creative writing from Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northern Arizona University with an M.A. in English with an emphasis in creative writing (poetry).
