ATA, 720 Strategies, Xenophon Strategies and consultant, Ed Merlis accept Silver Anvil award.
720 Strategies congratulates its client, the Air Transport Association, the premier trade group of the principal U.S. airlines, on winning the prestigious 2009 Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for its “Stop Oil Speculation Now” campaign. The Silver Anvil Award recognizes organizations that successfully address contemporary issues with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness.
“720 Strategies is excited for the Air Transport Association and honored to be a part of the SOS Now campaign,” said 720 Strategies President, Pamela Fielding. “Winning the Silver Anvil provides proof, not only of 720 Strategies’ commitment to integrated media and public affairs grassroots campaigns, but more importantly meeting our clients’ goals and needs.”
In conjunction with Xenophon Strategies and government/public affairs consultant, Ed Merlis, 720 Strategies helped successfully energize ATA’s “Stop Oil Speculation Now” coalition—using our expertise in grassroots advocacy, website design and development and coalition building—to persuade Congress to reform gas and oil market regulation, and to provide relief to American families and business strapped by the skyrocketing price of oil.
Within the first seven weeks of the campaign, the price of oil dropped 35%!
To date, the campaign has delivered more than one million messages to lawmakers from American consumers demanding an end to speculator-driven price hikes on gas.
